IT TAKES TWO

Week 1

Monday

3rd October 2011

Fab intro to new girl Zoe Ball, with the lucky lady getting to dance a few steps with ALL the male professionals, then we had our first glimpse of the brand new sparkly It Takes Two set. A quick recap of the weekend shows, with a good smattering of back stage footage before the first guests Lulu & Brendan came in to talk about what went wrong in their first dance, how Brendan was pleased that Lulu still put in a great performance even though she'd forgotten the choreography, and how their foxtrot training is going.

Next up, a video segment giving the judges a chance to give their (pre-season) thoughts on the male celebs (and I have to say, loving Aussie Craig!), and then Audley & Natalie joined Zoe talking about how Audley thought Craig was harsh but fair as Natalie had warned him about his hands, and how Audley's wife has customised his own shoes as they haven't been able to get dance shoes made in his size yet. Natalie's excited about their salsa training, and Audley thinks it gives him the opportunity to go for it!

On to the judges first impressions of the female celebs, before Craig came in to chat to Zoe with his reflections after the first week dances. Loved that Craig explained that he thought he should "remind" the professionals that lifts are illegal! Fabulous comments from Craig and always great to hear his extended, animated thoughts on It Takes Two. He's most looking forward to seeing Russell and wants to see Lulu remember her steps!

4th October 2011

Alex & James were the first guests, talking about their first dance and James standing up to Craig for his harsh comments at the weekend. Nice video of Drill Sgt James putting Alex through a fitness boot camp in order to try and improve her core. James thinks there is already improvement in Alex this week in preparation for their foxtrot (with a prop! Eek!)

Karen Hardy was in for her first Choreography Corner next and was great at pointing out lots of interesting things about Fridays routines from the professionals and great to hear her sticking up for Robbie & Ola (although a bit harsh of Flavia, Ms Hardy?). Moving on quickly after, and rushing through everyone a bit tonight, and it was a quick catch up with Dan & Katya, the height difference of a foot between them, a VT of them fighting Kat & Lobb (d'ya see what they did there?) and good vibes for the salsa this week.

A chance to find out a bit more about our new professional this year next, with a video about Pasha, followed by round two with Karen looking at the choreography with no sympathy for the props disaster for Anton & Nancy. Finally, Anita & Robin telling us about their thoughts on their weekend dances, how they have the same sense of humour, and a video showing the two sides of Bobby in the training room. Salsa has been fantastic so far according to Robin, but Anita thinks it's insane!

Wednesday

5th October 2011

The Waite-ing is over, Mr Ian Waite is back! But before we could get to Ian, Holly & Artem were the first visitors to the ITT sofas, and it's good to see the host might change, but the shoes are still as glamorous, especially Holly's eight inch sparkly heels! The chance to chat about their first dance, before it was time for the video showing us how Artem can't stop his Terminator side. He's amazed Holly hasn't walked out of rehearsals yet! Salsa this week for them, and Artem thinks it's going okay.

Dancers In Disguise was a new game for ITT with one of the professionals dressed in an animal suit (yes, you read that correctly) dancing a few moves for us to try and guess who it is. And then it was the joyous moment when Ian was back on our screens - Waite's Wednesday Warmup was our next newest segment! Lots of great rehearsal footage and fab comments from Ian looking at the foxtrots first of all.

Nancy & Anton next with their change to set the record straight about the feather boa incident. LOVED the replay of their dance with the microphones open so we could hear what they were saying to each other during the dance disaster. Salsa for them too this week, and but she's training in very high heels and she's obviously convinced that she knows better than all the professional dancers and costumiers in the dance world!

A few voicemail messages from fans (was one of the you?) and then back to Ian for the salsa rehearsal footage and the EXCLUSIVE news that lifts will be allowed in the Salsa this year. More great comments from Ian and then the Dancer in Disguise was revealed as James Jordan.

In what must have been the quickest interview ever, Harry & Aliona were Zoe's final guests with Aliona admitting that while she respects the judges comments, she doesn't take them on board! They've got the foxtrot this week, which Harry thinks should be renamed the Swantrot.

Thursday

6th October 2011

Thursday means rehearsal footage, so tonight kicked off with the boys foxtrot training videos, before Jason & Kristina joined Zoe in the studio. Jason's performance on Saturday even made the Channel 10 News down under, and even his kids were proud of him! Jason's finding the foxtrot more stressful because it's slower but he's nailed the character for the dance.

On to the girls foxtrot training clips, and Alex's arms are drooping along with Lulu's mood. Edwina & Vincent were the next guests and her family and friends are being very supportive but getting Edwina to listen and let Vincent be the boss is apparently Vincent's biggest challenge ever!

Salsa training rehearsals before the final guests of the night, Russell & Flavia. Zoe whipped out the "Campometer" to show us just how camp their cha cha cha routine was, and then probably the most fun interview of the series so far, with lots of giggles and a too tight shirt!

Friday

7th October 2011

Rory & Erin kicked off the show, with a glimpse at Rory getting annoyed with himself in training, and Erin getting weak kneed at his Sean Connery impression. Dancing the salsa to "Vehicle" (which Matt Di Angelo and Flavia danced to in series 5) and training looked pretty good. Quick link with the new "Who Am I?" segment with some of the pro's giving us clues to guess which other dancer they were talking about - to be revealed later in the show.

Next up were Robbie & Ola, and Robbie was explaining how he doesn't like confrontation so it was hard to stand in front of the judges last weekend, but he & Ola are getting their own back in the training room by kicking balls at a photo of Craig. Their foxtrot is being danced to "Ain't That A Kick In The Head" - FAB song choice Ola!

A quick interlude with some of the viewers phone messages next and the "Who Am I?" was revealed and then Zoe announced that Alesha wasn't going to be able to make it into the studio because she's poorly, but as it's her birthday, the dancers sent her some video birthday messages, and a present in the studio which was Russell Grant with a bow on top!

A nice little video with a behind the scenes look at the title sequence shoot before all the celebs giving us their thoughts on what it would be like to be voted out this week before Zoe made her way down to the studio to chat to Chelsee & Pasha. Chelsee explained how it's a bit nerve wracking getting into the studio to rehearse, and she's struggling with the hip action. A quick preview of their salsa being danced to "Higher" and that was our first week of It Takes Two for 2011!
